We struggle for balance year 'round, but as the holidays arrive, the balancing act becomes just a bit trickier. I look at it as a fabulous opportunity.
It's an opportunity to re-evaluate our priorities. Have we gotten off track? Are we spending too much time at the office, at the keyboard, chasing our tails at the sake of family and friends?
Let this be a time to pick up the phone and let the people that matter to you know how much you love them and what they mean to you. Hug your husband, your wife, your children, your friends. Practice random acts of kiindness. Help those less fortunate. Do the human race proud.

Tom, A good reminder for me to call all of those people who live far away and who I share a special bond of love and care with......thank you!

Jennifer - Thanks. Sorry I couldn't make it to the cafe last night.
Jo - I have a hunch you're pretty good at doing that without being reminded ;-)
Linda - I have no doubt yours will be wonderful. Thanks for the compliment.
Brian - It made me chuckle I wanted to end on a light note.
Sally - Thanks for inspiring me to write it. Now I need to practice what I preach.
Kathy - You're welcome. It's so important.
Bill & Babara-Jo -Thanks :-)
Tom,
Love the post. I used to work in Manhattan years ago and the best time to be in the City was Christmas. It was like a different place. People smiled and said hello and it's not that New Yorkers are rude many of them just keep to themselves to avoid the weirdos and cons on the street. Christmas does bring out the best in all of us - I need to call my Mom and tell her I love her! Thanks Tom!

Hi Tom,
Now you are stepping on my toes! LOL. Keeping in touch with old friends and far away family members is a weak point for me. You have inspired me to improve and there is no time like the present. Thank you.
