I think that this "pandemic" has been blown way out of proportion. People die from the flu every year - I don't think the rate of people becoming infected or dying from the Swine flu is any greater than a typical flu virus, it is just getting more press.
Great info Tom. Maybe if one Realtor for each county did this it would help everyone. I'm going to go look for Orange County and will post it.
Bridget - I think it's a no win situation. Say they downplayed it and it did turn into an epidemic or pandemic. Then people would be screaming "why didn't you warn us?!?"
Valorie - Great idea. I think it's better to be safe than sorry.
Real facts will help to educate, too. I've heard from several sources that most cases already have a hepatitis strain...so a struggling immune system. I also don't believe "THEY" will ever warn us enough about the real things. Too much trapped in politics and who is financing the med schools (the pharmaceutical companies) who need consumers. Being healthy can be bad for others' business.
Mara - Thanks for your perspective. You raise some good points.
Tom,
Thanks for posting that information. I think it is too early to tell what impact this will have on all of us. Good to know what is going on in other areas. I personally think at this point it would be a good idea to close all schools and send the kids home with lots of homework assignments. I think that would really put a lid on a lot of it. We have not lived through an actual pandemic, so who knows?
Tom, I know they're really cute, but you have to stop kissing the pigs!
Sandra - None of us knows what this might or might not turn into. Thanks.
Pat - You know how to dampen a guy's fun, don't you?
Naples swine flu update...0. Maybe it's time for you and your beautiful bride to be to relocate...hint hint. Hope you're great! :)
Shannon - Not so sure about relocating, but we'd love to come visit!
This Flu came and went. Hopefully people will take care of the animals like they should.
