We CAN All Get Along - Just Watch...

This is one of the most heartwarming videos I have ever seen. The message is quite powerful. There really is nothing we can't accomplish if we just set our minds to it. Don't believe me? Take a look.

Real Estate Connect, SF - You Are Planning On Being There, Aren't You?

sf connect

Let's quote Bob Stewart, shall we? "If you miss the next Inman in July in San Francisco (or if that's too far and you miss the one a year from now in New York) you are crazy!!"

What did I learn at Inman?

I can't tell you what an incredible experience this past January's Real Estate Connect, meeting fellow Active Rainers and absorbing a wealth of information about blogging, social networking and the real estate industry. I spoke with Matt Heaton yesterday and he assured me there will be an AR gathering, but no formal plans have been drawn up yet. By the way, Matt, congratulations on being the only member with more than 1,000,000 points!

Prices will be going up April 5, so if you're planning on going, make your reservations now. I look forward to seeing you in San Francisco this July.

There's So Much To See & Do Here - Winchester Farms

Winchester Farms

If you take Winchester Road from Temecula and head north, you'll come to Winchchester Farms. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

Julian Pies

Julian is the apple capitol of the area. If you want to take home one of their world famous pies, you've come to the right place. They come in a variety of flavors and taste home-baked. I'll take a drive to Julian at harvest time and share some pictures then.

Tamales

Winchester Farms has a deli with fresh sandwiches as well as the above noted tamales and beef jerky. Their selection of local produce is excellent. I took home some avocados and they were delicious. Come explore the Temecula Valley. I'd love to show you around.

What Happens In Vegas...

bettebette tix

WOW! Chris and I drove to Las Vegas Friday and had the time of our lives. Friday evening we had to good fortune to see Bette Midler's new show at Caesar's Palace, "The Showgirl Must Go On". Anyone who had any doubts about her ability to take Celine Dion's place can put them to rest here and now. If you get the opportunity to go, don't miss it! Simply put it is one of the best shows I have ever seen. Period. She is a diva and she is divine. Judge Judy was seated three rows in front of us.

Saturday morning we drove to Boulder City to visit Chris' dad's grave at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetary. It was a crisp and windy day. I was deeply moved by all the flags blowing in the breeze and by those who stopped to pay tribute to their loved ones.

We had a wonderful dinner that night at Antonio's at The Rio, then went to see Penn & Teller.

I was expecting to enjoy the show, but they flat out blew me away. We were fortunate enough to get front row seats and watching them that closely you can not believe your eyes. They have been working together for thirty years and they keep the act fresh. They're incredibly talented.

We awoke Sunday morning to see fresh snow in the mountains. After breakfast, we hit the road and went home. I will remember this weekend for a long time to come.

Real Agent Help - How The Arrid Club in Hemet Is Helping People Turn Their Lives Around

Joey A

This past Thursday morning I went to Mimi's Cafe in Hemet for Joey Aszterbaum's monthly Real Agent Help breakfast. This month's breakfast sponsor was Active Rain's Heidi Gray. She invited John and Sugar from The Arrid Club to be the morning's speakers.

Heidi & Tom

Heidi shared with the group that she is in recovery and has been for many years. She gave much of the credit to the Arrid Club. John and Sugar are two shining examples of people that have turned their lives around. John now is a drug and alcohol counselor and Sugar is proud of the mother and daughter she has become and the fact that she now coaches one of her children's soccer teams. If you want to find out more, send an email to thearridclub@hotmail.com.

John & Sugar

Joey deserves a lot of credit for organizing this monthly networking breakfast. He is a true credit to our community locally and in the rain.

Spring Has Sprung In The Inland Empire

daisies

A wetter than normal winter has blessed up with an abundance of brilliant wildflowers in the Temecula Valley. I know they won't last long, so I grabbed my camera and started snapping. The first shots are a few blocks from my house in Murrieta.

This is from the nectarine tree in my backyard.

Then this morning I went to the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve. Everything was green and gorgeous. Check out the snow-capped San Bernardino mountains!

I plan on taking more photos before the splendor fades. I love where I live!

A Life Left Behind

drawing

I took some clients out to see homes yesterday. They were a lovely couple, excited about purchasing a home for their family. They saw a home near the first one we had previewed and asked if we could see it. I called the office and found out it was vacant. When I opened the door, I was in shock.

It literally looked liked this family had left in the middle of the night, grabbing what they could before leaving the the life they once had behind. There were toys strewn about the floor. There were piles of trash everywhere. There were pizza boxes and more trash in the kitchen,

In one of the bedrooms were several stuffed animals and unopened toys. I was totally unprepared for what I saw. It broke my heart.

toys

A couple of things struck me. Even though this was a bank owned listing, why didn't the agent spend half a day making the home look presentable? Secondly, what had become of this family? These images will stay with me for a long time to come.

When we show foreclosed homes, they have often been "sanitized". This was such a clear example of a family's life that had been turned upside down.
